Special Reader program launched

- -

We hear it all the time at Saratoga, from loyal readers holding The Saratoga Special in their hands or reading it online from afar.

“We love the paper and never miss an issue,” they say. “I can’t believe it’s free. I wish there was a way I could help.”

Production of The Saratoga Special isn’t free and advertising covers the cost of creating, printing and distributing roughly 5,000 copies every day we publish, including employing our dedicated, seasonal and year-round staff. Thanks to our generous advertisers, The Special is thriving.

But here’s your chance to get involved. Join the Readers Club. Special readers are already part of a community. We just want to see it grow, and make the most of it.

Members receive a The Saratoga Special Readers Club sticker, a The Saratoga Special hat, early email notices of new editions, invitations to special events (we haven’t scheduled any yet, but you’ll be the first to know) and other benefits we’re still dreaming up (we’re open to suggestions).

Most importantly, you get the satisfaction of helping produce your favorite Saratoga newspaper and being part of something unique.

Cost is $35 per year, and the program is totally optional. The Special is free to read, in print within the 12866 or online at thisishorseracing.com. We hope you’ll sign up, but you don’t have to. Thanks for being there, and welcome aboard. Tell your friends.
