In 2001, we launched The Saratoga Special newspaper to cover the peerless racing season at New York’s Saratoga Race Course. All these years later, we’re still doing it. The best 3-year-old filly in the land, Thorpedo Anna, graces Saratoga (again) in the Coaching Club American Oaks. Saturday's headliner drew a field of five, and shares top billing with the Lake George for 3-year-old fillies on the turf. Chad Brown has a Travers contender in Curlin winner Unmatched Wisdom, and we recap three days of racing at the Spa.
Week 2. The Special recaps a big weekend of racing including Whitebeam's Diana repeat, Mo Plex's Sanford win and much more, plus takes a look at stakes this week including the Grade 1 A.P. Smithwick Memorial Grade 1 jump race (weather permitting).
