The third week of the 2026 Saratoga Race Course meeting comes to a close Sunday with a 10-race card topped by a strong renewal of the Grade 3 Quick Call Stakes for 3-year-old turf sprinters.
An overflow field of 14 entered the 5 ½-furlong feature, including an also-eligible and main track only runner. Cy Fair also entered but galloped to a victory Saturday in the Grade 3 Coronation Cup against fellow 3-year-old fillies.
Without Cy Fair in the field the favorite’s role could go to Intricate Spirit, who shortens up after winning the 6-furlong Paradise Creek in late May at Aqueduct; Johnny’s Red Storm, unbeaten in two starts including a stakes at Kentucky Downs for George Weaver; Bobrovsky, a flashy two-time winner here last summer for Dale Romans; or the popular Ewing, who makes his turf debut for Mark Casse.
The Quick Call goes as the ninth race with post time of 5:45 p.m. – hopefully with plenty of time after the World Cup Final between Argentina and Spain concludes at Met Life Stadium in New Jersey.
