Sunday’s Saratoga picks – Aug. 16

- -

Week 5 of the 2020 Saratoga Race Course meeting comes to a close Sunday with a 10-race card topped by the second edition of the $500,000 Saratoga Oaks Invitational for 3-year-old fillies on the grass.

The Saratoga Oaks, a compliment to Saturday’s Saratoga Derby won by Domestic Spending, drew a field of seven led by Grade 2 Appalachian winner Enola Gay and the first four from the Grade 2 Lake Placid here opening weekend in Speaktomeofsummer, Stunning Sky, Queens Embrace and Key Biscayne. Two other runners from the powerful Bill Mott barn, European import Ricetta and Coaching Club American Oaks third Antoinette, complete the strong lineup.

By the end of the 10th race there will be 24 days in the books for 2020 Saratoga, a meet like no other without fans and a shifted stakes schedule.
