Throwback Thursday – Milestone score

Bob Baffert hit another milestone in his Hall of Fame career last Saturday with his 3,000th North American Thoroughbred victory. Fittingly the milestone win came on the Triple Crown trail in the Grade 3 Robert B. Lewis at Santa Anita Park, a stakes named for a man who helped provide Baffert some of his finest moments as a trainer, including his first Triple Crown attempt with Silver Charm.

Independence Hall set for next test

Mike Trombetta has been around long enough to realize there are no shortcuts on the road to the Kentucky Derby. If you hope to make it to the starting gate in Louisville on the first Saturday in May, you have to map out your journey, one stop at a time, and avoid a plethora of potential potholes along the way.
