The morning was winding down, Joe Clancy finished his work for the Preakness Stakes pool reporting team and thought about hitting the exit at Pimlico Race Course to make the trek back home to northeast Maryland.
High drama always accompanies the Triple Crown season, we just didn’t expect anything like what transpired this week leading up to Maryland’s day on the big stage.
Medina Spirit, embattled first-place finisher in the Kentucky Derby two weeks ago, drew post 3 in the field of 10 entered Tuesday afternoon for Saturday’s 146th running of the $1 million Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Race Course.
Another Kentucky Derby in the books and all eyes on the Preakness Stakes, but first another Saturday filled with top-shelf racing from coast to coast and around the world.
