The Belmont Special
A new newspaper as the Belmont Stakes and its racing lineup move north to Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. in June. Published in print and online, the four-day newspaper – Thursday, June 6 through Sunday, June 9 – promises to be a hit with advertisers, horsemen, bettors, fans, readers and anyone else connected to Thoroughbred racing’s Triple Crown. The Saratoga Special
A newspaper at the country’s greatest meet, The Special covers the Saratoga summer season from Broadway to the backstretch. Opened in 1864, Saratoga Race Course is one of the world’s great sporting venues – and The Special covers everything that happens there during the season. The Saratoga Special was founded in 2001 and has become a fixture of the racing season at Saratoga Race Course with coverage you – literally – can get anywhere else. We’ve got the best handicapping around, stellar photography and various pieces of editorial content – news, features, opinions, bit and bobs, this and that – from a crack team of writers and editors.
Published 20 times in 2024, The Special will again focus on Wednesday and Saturday editions during the eight-week season – plus a Sales Week schedule of six consecutive editions to capture the always-memorable Fasig-Tipton yearling sales.
The Special is distributed in print all over Saratoga – 5,000 copies per edition – and online as a PDF of the full print edition with 2,500 downloads per edition.
