Happy New Year. My first resolution went up in smoke as I missed writing January 1-3. Ah well, if you’re going to break your resolutions, you might as well do it early. Write more, write better is on the list of resolutions. I think it was on there last year, too. I did neither. We’ll see about this year.
Long and challenging Christmas has come to a close. Alabama, Virginia, Pennyslvania. Three locations, three celebrations. Miles enthralled that Santa can find all three places. Not as enthralled by his parents, who make the plan and work the plan to get to the three locations. Miles saw Santa in Virginia about a week before Christmas and Santa asked him what he wanted, Miles looked at him and said, “I’ll tell you when I get to Alabama.” Which he did, at the Brookwood Mall for the sixth consecutive year, all the photos hang on the fridge. Miles changing each year, Santa staying the same.
And, by the way, if you’re looking for your Christmas card, it’s in a pile on the kitchen table, which leads me to my second New Year’s resolution – get Christmas cards out earlier. This seems like a circle.
