I admire and respect a daily blog. I just can’t seem to fulfill one and I also wonder how I could possibly have anything interesting to say every day. As one of my great editors once said, “Quit apologizing for not writing and write.”
With that in mind…
Riverdee enjoyed a big weekend last week with Motivational, Lonely Weekend and Biedermeier winning and Gibralfaro and Wigwam Baby finishing second. Like always in racing, there was a little bit of everything as Motivational was claimed, Gibralfaro lost a photo, Lonely Weekend impressed us, Wigwam Baby surprised us and Biedermeier was elevated by the stewards in the allowance timber at Pennsylvania Hunt Cup. Crazily, it is the first time I’ve ever won a race through a disqualification. As an owner or a jockey, since my first pony race in 1983. Well, I’m 1-for-1,200 or so.
Evidently, you can watch the race in question on Twitter and offer your opinion, which is the definition of Twitter, voice, bark, scream and think something’s going to change. Thoughts and prayers…
Big weekend at Charleston this weekend, trainer and jockey titles on the line. Jack Fisher and Ricky Hendriks battle to the wire, the David and Goliath story of the year as Fisher goes for his umpteenth title and Hendriks seeks his first. As for the jockeys, Jack Doyle and Darren Nagle go to the final meet tied and Ross Geraghty looms two back with good rides. Who do you like?
That’s all for today, maybe I’ll come back for more tomorrow…
