You know that day when you step outside, walk less than 100 yards and immediately realize how unprepared you are for winter?
Monday was that day here in upstate New York.
Even though the temperatures were below freezing and the wind was whipping it still seems odd to complain about winter, considering it took a lot longer to arrive than the last two years.
Still, that Christmas Eve run in shorts and a t-shirt seemed like years ago on that walk from the house to downtown Saratoga Springs. Truth be told the walk is a lot more than 100 yards and thankfully it was plenty warm on my errand stops.
The cold did lead to a longer-than-anticipated lingering at Saratoga Coffee Traders on Broadway, the small coffee I planned to order turned into a large and no mid-afternoon snack turned into a blondie.
Oh well, I'll run it off tomorrow.
As long as it warms up.
