The field is set for Saturday’s 144th running of the Travers Stakes at Saratoga Race Course and the field of nine includes classic winners Orb and Palace Malice who are not favored on the morning line.
The favorite’s role goes to Haskell Invitational winner Verrazano at 2-1. Todd Pletcher trains the once-beaten Verrazano and also brings 5-2 second choice and Belmont Stakes winner Palace Malice to the Travers. Kentucky Derby winner Orb is the third choice on the morning line at 4-1.
