Seven. She’s won seven in a row and now she gets a Grade 1 test in Saratoga’s historic Diana – a $500,000 turf stakes going 1 1/8 miles. Bleecker Street, the only American-bred horse in the race, faces five rivals (three from her trainer Chad Brown) including world traveler Creative Flair.

The first Saturday edition of the 2022 season goes 44 pages and also previews the Sanford Stakes for 2-year-olds, where New Jersey-bred Great Navigator tries to spring an upset. Plus, we’ve got stakes recaps from Thursday and Friday, the father/son bugling team, handicapping, a Fasig-Tipton Stable Tour with Jeremiah Englehart and loads more.

As usual, you can pick up The Special at the track and all over town – or read it here on the website thanks in part to online edition sponsor Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners. Support our advertisers, and let your friends know about The Special. Thanks for reading and we’ll see you in the next edition Wednesday, July 20.
