Triple Crown winner American Pharoah was pegged as the 6-5 morning-line favorite for Saturday’s $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic during a special post-position draw event Monday night at the Maker’s Mark Bourbon Lounge at Keeneland Race Course.

American Pharoah drew post No. 4 in the field of 10 for the 1 1/4-mile Classic, the headline event of the first Breeders’ Cup run at Keeneland. Regular jockey Victor Espinoza will ride the Pioneerof The Nile colt for trainer Bob Baffert, who won last year’s Classic with Bayern.

Two-time champion mare Beholder was listed as the 3-1 second choice on the line. Winner of the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies as a 2-year-old in 2012 and the Breeders’ Cup Distaff at 3 in 2013, Beholder will try to become the first horse to win three Breeders’ Cup races.
